Jazsmin Lewis has been cast in a leading role in a new comedy stage production set to play for two nights in Dallas, Texas in September. The play, called "My Daddy's New Wife," will feature the well-known film and TV star with a host of other popular actors.
Lewis is best known for her roles in front of the camera. She played Ice Cube's wife in the two hit feature films, "Barbershop" and "Barbershop 2: Back In Business" and has starred in numerous feature films before and since then. The list includes the recent films "Four Seasons" and "My Sister's Wedding" as well as "Flip The Script" and "Traci Townsend." All in all she has done more than twenty-five feature films.
But Lewis is also familiar to television audiences. She has had roles on Tyler Perry's "Meet The Browns," "Eve," "Living Single," Martial Law" and "Line of Fire" among others. She even appeared on "Martin" and "Family Matters" when she was starting out in the business.
Stage is not new to Lewis though. She is an accomplished stage performer and has done numerous shows in many parts of the country. So she is thrilled to be able to do this performance in Dallas.
"I do enjoy doing theater," Lewis said. "I love the immediate feedback from the audience. And I love this script. It is a funny play but with its own message hidden in there. I can't wait to get to work on it."
"My Daddy's New Wife" is written by Katrice Walker. The play is scheduled for two nights, September 6th and 7th with possible plans for shows in other cities at later dates. For more on the play or ticket information click here.
