National and online magazine Working Mother published a feature article this week on Jazsmin Lewis as part of its "Celebrity Moms" series. Lewis now joins a long list of Hollywood stars who have been interviewed in the magazine about balancing motherhood and the requirements of film and television stardom. Some of the others featured have been Vanessa Williams, Heidi Klum, Kristen Bell, Kristi Yamaguchi, Jane Seymour and Debra Messing among other notable stars.

Here is an excerpt from the article:

Fresh from filming romantic comedy Four Seasons (in which Jazsmin plays the winter choice of handsome bachelor Xavier Lamar) and gearing up for projects such as the third installment of box office hit Barbershop, Jazsmin Lewis recently spoke to us about life, love and her dream role! (hint: it's probably not what you are expecting)

You've played a beautiful journalist and hopeless romantic in the film Traci Townsend, and you also played the sassy yet sweet wife Jennifer Palmer to rapper/actor Ice Cube in the movie Barbershop. Are these your dream roles?

I don’t know if you noticed but I’m always glammed up [in films]. I would really like to play someone on drugs or in a mental institution where I just get to be completely stripped down and vulnerable. That’s one of my dream roles. Now I don’t know what it is yet because in the next several projects I am still in all the hair and makeup. But it’s coming…I promise!

You have been in the film industry for almost 20 years but you don’t look a day over 25! What are your beauty secrets?

I do all the same stuff that every woman does. I try to take care of my skin. I drink a gallon of water a day. I exercise---but its honestly just staying active and keeping up with my son [Christian, 3].

On Instagram you refer to Christian as your best friend. Why is that?

It’s interesting because the moment I became pregnant everything changed. It became completely not about me. Christian gave me a whole new purpose. I get to see the world all over again through his eyes…parts that I even missed as a child. He just changed my world. If you have any kids you know there is no love like that.

Continuing what has been a very busy period for the popular actress, Jazsmin Lewis has made the move to Mavrick Artists Agency as her agency representation.

Lewis, who has had the benefit of a long successful careeer in the business, has not slowed down one bit. Fans remember her from her early days just starting out as a young actress on shows such as "Martin, "Saved By The Bell" and "Family Matters." But proving she was not a fleeting star, she continued to work, starring in many major film and televison shows through the years, including "Barbershop," "Barbershop 2: Back in Business" playing opposite Ice Cube as his wife, and appearing on such hit shows as Tyler Perry's "Meet The Browns" "Eve" and "Line of Fire." Continuing her long string of success, she starred in three films all in just the last year alone.

Lewis is not slowing down one bit. The move to Mavrick Artists Agency is another step in making sure her career continues and expands as would be expected of someone with her resume and talent.

"Mavrick is the perfect place for me right now at this stage of my career," Lewis said. "I have been blessed to have the successes I've had up to now but I don't have any intention of sitting on that. I trust my new agents at Mavrick will play a huge part in helping me keep things happening. I don't take anything for granted in this business and I know the power of the right team supporting you."
